Fred Wellington is Senior Financial  Analyst with World Resource Institute’s Markets and Enterprise Program and leads the Capital Markets Research team.  He focuses primarily on the financial and competitive implications of climate change and he works with several investment banks on environmental finance topics.  Previously, Fred worked on Wall Street as a research analyst specializing in Latin American equities for Flemings, a British investment bank and later, Jefferies & Co., covering technology companies.

Mr. Wellington holds an M.S. in Environmental Management and an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and also holds degrees in International Business and Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Fred Wellington is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the CFA Institute.
