Christian Seelos is Lecturer and Senior Researcher in the General Management department at IESE. He teaches "International Business Strategy", "CSR", "Sustainable Development", and "Social Entrepreneurship and Innovative Business Models in Developing Countries" at IESE and a number of other business schools in Europe, Africa and the United States.  He serves as the Director of the IESE Platform for Strategy and Sustainability.

His research focuses on emerging topics at the interface between company strategy and issues of the global sustainability agenda such as climate change, water stress, poverty and neglected diseases and global health. He also studies a number of innovative business models and social entrepreneurs that create new markets and economic and social development in the poorest countries. His research informs new curricula for MBA and executive education and he advises companies and organizations on a number of issues ranging from competitive strategy to innovative business models at "the bottom of the pyramid" and CSR.

Prof. Seelos has recently collaborated closely with the Malik Management Center in St. Gallen and the European Academy of Business in Society and in 2006 was a Director of the firm FSG Social Impact Advisors, which carries out business planning and CSR consulting with European companies and International Organizations.

Between 2001 and 2003 he was a Senior Contract Director at British Telecom Global Services and built up the new IT solutions strategy and in 2003, he also held the position of Head of CSR operating from London and Munich. Prior to that, he was Senior Strategy Consultant at Siemens (Munich) and Vice President for portfolio strategy and product development at Transclick Inc. (New York). In the 1990s he was appointed member of the United Nations Special Commission on Iraq (UNSCOM). From 1997 to 1999 he joined the UN HQ in New York to lead the inspection and disarmament efforts on biological weapons in Iraq. In the 1980s and early 90s he was Assistant Professor for molecular biology and cancer research at the University of Vienna.

Prof. Seelos received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna/Baylor College of Medicine, Houston; an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a Master of Science from the University of Vienna. He has authored more than 50 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and in a number of books.
